Patricia confessed Christ in her life at an early age. She joined Beulah First Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. A.D. Bell. Patricia later moved her membership to the Mount Calvary MB Church under the leadership of Rev. Sherman Jarrett. Frank Junior Smith
Brother Frank J. Smith age 68 of Crestview, FL, departed this life on August 7, 2010, at Joyce Golden Covenant Hospice, Pensacola, FL. A native of Greenville, Alabama, Frank called Crestview his home for over fourty years. Services were held on August 14, 2010 at Beulah #1 Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend (Dr.) Robert S. Gray officiating and McKinnie Funeral Home directing. Interment followed at Beulah Cemetery, Milligan, FL. Frank graduated from Century High School. Worked as a truck driver for Construction Service Company of Florida. He also was a member of the Crestview Brotherhood Club. Brother Smith was preceded in death by his parents, son: Frank Smith Jr., brothers: Willie D. Smith and Ray Smith. Culley Lester Olds
Mr. Culley Lester Olds age 89 of Campbellton, FL. Passed away Sunday August 1st at his resident. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday August 7th at New Bethel C.M.E. Church in Campbellton with Reverends Freeman Walker Sr, James Robinson Jr. and Minister Douglas Cotton officiating. Interment followed in the St. Paul Cemetery with military honors and with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.
Culley Lester Olds was born May 28, 1921, in Campbellton, Florida to the late Oscar and Olivia Olds. Culley was the fifth of fourteen children of which two survive him, Jethro (Helen) Olds and Chero Olds (Eve) also of Campbellton. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel C.M.E. Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent in the 60’s and 70’s, leader of his church class, and a faithful member of the Steward Board. He was a Master Mason with the Golden Square Masonic Lodge of Campbellton.
He was a member of the United States Army, serving as a Corporal for three years. He participated in the liberation of Europe from the hands of the Nazis, fought battles in North France, Ardennes, Raineland (Germany), and central Europe. He served in the US Army from August 5, 1942 until his honorable discharge on December 10, 1945. On December 22, 1944, Culley was awarded the Bronze Star for extraordinary bravery in battle; he received other medals including the World War II Victory Medal.
Upon his return to Campbellton, he resumed his life as a farmer and welcomed his first son, Herman Evans (Maplewood, NJ). On December 24, 1946, he married Katrina Pittman and had seven children: Curlie Russ of Campbellton, Florida (Reggie); Trinia Pender of West Palm Beach, Florida; Gail Knighton of Lake Park, Florida (Ulysses); Lonniell Olds of West Palm Beach, Florida (Wendy); Calvin Olds of West Palm Beach, Florida; Edison Olds, Sr. of Campbellton, Florida (Annette); and Faye Adams of Fayetteville, Georgia (Richard). Culley and Katrina have 26 grandchildren, 22 great grand children, and 1 great great grandchild. He was also employed at Vanity Fair in Graceville, Florida from 1967 – 1985 when he retired.
Culley Olds lived a very fruitful life as a devoted husband of 63 years and a loving father. He spent the remainder of his years building his reputation as a successful farmer and wise businessman. He was known as “Uncle Curley” to many, but to his children was known simply as “Daddy”.

Mr. Devon Wayne Stanley "aka" Rusty Joe" age 54 of Crestview, FL, passed away July 15, 2010, at his residence in Okaloosa County, Florida. Services were held on July 22, 2010 at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor George Thomas officiating and McKinnie Funeral Home directing. Interment followed at Springhill Cemetery, Crestview, FL. Rusty Joe was a quiet and humble person. He had a love for auto repair but he mainly found employment as a concrete laborer. Devon accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as his savior on April 25, 2010 and became a member of Peoples MB Church. Bert Little
Mr. Burt Little aka "The Pilgrim" age 72 of Baker, Florida, passed away July 15, 2010 at his residence in Walton County, Florida. Mr. Eugene Herbert Sr., age, 45, of Toledo, OH, passed away at the hospital on July 10, 2010. Gene was raised in Rockhill, FL and later moved to Ohio where he remained until his sudden death. Mrs. Erma Jean McAllister age 85, of Crestview, Florida, left the arms of her baby daughter, and entered the arms of her heavenly Father on July 5, 2010 while at her residence. She was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother. She was "Madear" not only to her children and grandchildren, but also to the neighborhood. She even manned a practically free candy store from her kitchen window. Giving herself to others was the true joy in her life, whether it be in word or deed. While she was meek and humble when standing, she was a mighty warrior on her knees. She was preceeded in passing by her husband: Joseph E. McAllister; sisters: Ella O'Neal Scott, Clarine Gray, and Daisy Smith; brothers: Herbert Washington, Charles Washington, Booker T. Washington, and James Washington; grandson: Demetrius Dickinson. Georgia was born June 23, 1938 to the late Andrew Vicks and Corine Brown. She also was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Hughes one daughter, Grazell Hughes, two sisters, Debra and Darlene Vicks and one brother. Georgia loved her family and loved people. She also enjoyed traveling and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Campbellton. She leaves to mourn her passing; Three Sons: Monty (Brandie) Townsend of Ozark, AL.; Calvin (Kim) Hughes of Dothan, AL. and Aldphous (Shante) Hughes of Rockledge, FL. Robert J.(Bobby) Hendrix, age 58 of Crestview, FL, passed away May 28, 2010 at North Okaloosa Medical Center. He confessed to Christ at an early age. Bobby served his country by enlisting in the United States Military. Later in life he worked at various automotive shops around Okaloosa and Walton counties and was well known for his paint and body work. He was an honest and true friend to wveryone he met. He always took the time to listen and give advice no matter what troubles he may have been going through himself. He loved God and would witness to others about God;s love he has for all of us. He loved spending time with his family and often used the phrase "That's That Baby", while playing with his grandchildren. The family and friends of the late Brother Bobby will miss him dearly. Deacon Sam Anthony, age 104 of Ashford, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his resident. Deacon Anthony was born May 3, 1906 in Shorterville, Alabama to the late Jannie and Elijah Anthony and raised by his maternal grandmother the late Lizzie Mosley. He was truly blessed to live 104 years. He was united in marriage to Mary Lee Allen on March 19, 1933. From their loving union they were blessed with eight children. Sam and Mary shared their love and faith for each other and God for 69 years until Mary’s passing in 2002. Two sons, Travis and Joseph Anthony also preceded him in death. Deacon Anthony was a god-fearing servant. A man of integrity and strength, a hard worker and provider for his family. He was a devoted member and eldest deacon at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Columbia, AL. His favorite song was “Where Can I Go But to the Lord.” His favorite place was outside in Jehovah God’s Beautiful Creation “NATURE” whether he was working or leisure, OUTSIDE was a joy to him. He leaves to cherish and rejoice in his loving memory four daughters: Louise (John H.) Thomas of Topeka, KS, Lois (Willie C.) Teague of Ashford, AL, Alice Ware and Mae Ella Barber both of Ozark, AL; two sons: Otis (Crystal) Anthony of Rome, NY and James Anthony of Utica, NY; three sisters: Lottie Jones of Toledo, Ohio, Virginia Williams of Elyria, Ohio, Mary Brown of Tampa, FL; one brother: James Anthony of Tampa, FL. Gladys Smith was born July 25, 1925, in Jackson County, Florida to the late Ben and Sweet Home Smith. She was the youngest of four brothers and six sisters which all preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by four children.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined McChapel AME Church in Marianna, Florida, where she became a child of God. Gladys leaves to cherish her memories nine children: George B. Murdell was a faithful and active member until her health failed. Murdell was a certified CNA for Okaloosa Memorial Hospital and Silver Crest Manor. She also served as hostess for the Carver Hill Memorial and Historical Society Museum. SW Melton was born November 14, 1937 to the late Joseph and Mary Melton in Gordon, Al. With Christ as his guide, SW relocated to Miami, Florida, early in his adult life and resided there until his death. He was a long-time, faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Brownsville where he served as an usher, deacon, trustee and a member of the male chorus.

She was a retired dietary technician from North Shore Hospital of Miami, FL. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Lewis Charles Gilbert, July 26, 1976. She moved her membership to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Malone where she resided for the last five years.

Mrs. Elizabeth Dagin age 59, of Crestview departed this life on February 25, 2010 at North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born and raised in Beaufort County, South Carolina. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal savior, was baptized and became a member of the Second Gethsemane Baptist Church in Stuart Point. In 1989, she was united in marriage and moved to Crestview seeking better employment opportunities. While in Crestview she atteded Live Oak Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, and even though she had no biological children of her own, she was the mother figure and nurturer to many in her family. She was preceded in death by parents: Rufus and Isabelle Wright; brothers: Samuel and Alfred Wright. January 21, 1935 in Campbellton, FL., She attended school in Pompano Beach, FL., she later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she attended Cosmetologist College and opened up her own beauty salon and cement trucking company. She joined church at an early age became a missionary and traveled throughout the country ministering and teaching God’s word. She inspired those she came in contact. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Nelson Brown Jr. and was preceded in death by two daughters and one son. Cellie Frances Jackson, Earnestine Jackson and Nathaniel Jackson.

Mrs. Bowden was born on December 13, 1912 in Houston County Alabama to the late Ella Mae Kirkland and the late Jessie Cole. After taking care of her bedridden mother for many years she worked in the restaurant business as a cook in Cross City, Florida. At her passing she was the oldest lifetime member of St. John AME Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bowden, daughter, Louella Teague, Step-father Albert Thomas and grandson, Donnell Teague.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Faye (Alvin) Crummell, Port Orange, Florida and Charles (Linda) Teague, Cross City, Florida; thirteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren. And a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

John A. Griffin was born December 2, 1940 to the Henry R. and Ollie L. Griffin. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. John was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He served his church and community in many capacities, steward, trustee, choir, Sunday school teacher and a great community leader. He touched many lives, and was God’s amazing grace to those who knew and loved him.
